Father’s Day 2026

On Father’s Day 2026, a place often marked by distance and silence will be filled with color, warmth, and connection. The associations Happy Bridge OdV, Sbarre di Zucchero APS, and Colors for Peace are coming together to create a special moment for children and their fathers inside the Rebibbia prison in Rome—transforming an ordinary afternoon into something truly meaningful.

On Thursday, March 19, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the prison walls will open to a different kind of experience: one made of small gestures and deep emotions. Volunteers will offer children chocolate eggs, bright colors, and little books to fill with imagination—simple gifts that become bridges, helping fathers and children rediscover each other through creativity, play, and tenderness.

In a setting where time apart is part of everyday life, this initiative seeks to bring closeness where there is distance, light where there is longing. It is an invitation to pause, to share, to look into each other’s eyes and create a memory that can be held onto long after the afternoon fades.

The moment of togetherness will be sweetened further by a thoughtfully prepared snack, generously offered by the cooperative Man at Work as part of the “Sfide” project, of which it is a partner.
